Even when a site lives elsewhere, we frequently keep domain registration and business email at IONOS. DNS management and the Domain API make running a portfolio of client domains sane.

IONOS or Kinsta — which one do I need?
Rough rule: if your website is the business and downtime costs you money, go Kinsta. If you need a solid site plus a domain and business email on one predictable bill, go IONOS. Not sure? Ask us — we’ll tell you honestly.
Is the free domain really free?
For the first year, yes, on the listed extensions. It renews at standard rates afterward. Check IONOS’s current terms before you buy — pricing and terms are theirs to change, not ours.
Can I get business email without moving my website?
Yes. Domains, email and hosting are separable. We do this often — email at IONOS, site wherever it already lives.
Is it real WordPress?
Yes. IONOS states explicitly that it’s the standard wordpress.org build, not a modified fork. Your site stays portable, and our Nelson plugins run on it normally.
What about “unlimited” storage and traffic?
Treat it the way you should treat any “unlimited” claim. IONOS’s own FAQ concedes it’s a tricky label and that some things — transfer speed, for instance — aren’t unlimited. For ordinary small-business sites it’s a non-issue.
